The Burning Crusade expansion to World of Warcraft was a highly anticipated event. The new expansion not only added new content and new challenges, it also managed to boost the depth of the game to existing subscribers, as well as adding enough new features to tempt new subscribers to buy it.
The Burning Crusade introduced a pair new races – the Draneri and the Blood Elves – as well as increasing the level cap to Level 70. A new crafting profession was also unveiled – Jewelcrafting – which has proved exciting with the gamer base.
A new explorable district, The Outland, was also unveiled. Allowing PvP, Outland also introduced a host of new quests, monsters, loot, and quest items. Providing new challenges for established subscribers, Outland quickly established itself as one of the most exciting regions World of Warcraft had to offer.
With the next expansion, The Wrath of the Lich King, scheduled to be released soon, can Blizzard duplicate the success of The Burning Crusade expansion? What other changes can they unveil to World of Warcraft maps?
