There are quite a few new Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG) that are coming out in 2009. One of the more promising ones is a game called Darkfall Online, which has been in development for several years now. So far, there hasn’t been a MMORPG out that has been anywhere near as popular as World of Warcraft, but the Darkfall Online developers hope to change that. The game has a very long list of features. Of course, features by themselves don’t make a game successful; it also has to run smoothly (this was one of the reasons Age of Conan didn’t do very well, for example). Darkfall Online has a Euro release date of January 22nd 2009.
When more people start to play Darkfall Online, there will definitely be people that want to buy and trade darkfall gold. Games like World of Warcraft have experienced massive inflation because of people running bots and exploits to generate massive amounts of in-game currency, which they can then sell to other players for real world money. Many bot-developers tend to find bugs in the beta versions of the game and make the most money selling gold when the game first comes out. However, the developers of Darkfall Online have apparently made it harder for gold sellers to make a profit, since they plan on making it easy for players to lose gold and items.
In addition to buying gold, many players will want to just buy darkfall accounts outright. An account that is fully leveled up and has every desirable item tends to fetch a couple thousand dollars in games like World of Warcraft. An account like this would take months of full-time playing to build up. Of course, the value of gold and accounts in Darkfall Online will really depend on how popular the game becomes.
