Appreciating The HP Color LaserJet CM4730 Printer
The HP color LaserJet CM4730 printer is certainly not a low-priced multifunction printer. In fact, it’s probably one of Hewlett-Packard’s more expensive offerings, but most people who have given it a try will say that the cost is definitely worth it for a printer, scanner and copier that does everything this machine is capable of.
For evidence of how really versatile the 4730 is, just take a look at the maximum monthly duty cycle. Hewlett-Packard rated at 175,000 impressions per month, which is a number far over and above what many other multifunction printers out there in its market segment can handle. Monthly duty cycle refers to how many pages per month a printer or copier can produce before needing any sort of maintenance.
As far as its printing speed, the 4730 does outstanding work in both color and monochrome. It can kick out nearly 31 pages a minute in both modes and this is also something that most other all in ones or multifunction printers priced within the 4730′s segment can’t really come close to matching what this HP can do without even really trying.
When acting in its copy machine capacity, the Hewlett-Packard 4730 performs just as well as it does in its print mode. It can take a document and enlarge it up to four times the original size while also being able to reduce it down to one quarter of its original size. There’s also automatic two-sided printing available and it can produce almost 1000 copies per job.
Print resolution with the 4730 is excellent, coming in as it does at 600 dots per inch across-the-board. This means that print product will look uniformly sharp and clear and without evidence of any blur or smudge in the vast majority of cases. It makes use of one of Hewlett-Packard’s proprietary image enhancement technology tools to accomplish all of this.
Included memory for the 4730 is a very nice 448 MB. This can be upgraded slightly to 576 MB of RAM fairly quickly, as well. Hewlett-Packard has also included a 40 GB hard disk drive to handle most any memory needs that the workgroup or network might have. Additionally, it can be connected to a workgroup quite easily with parallel, USB and Ethernet connectivity available and ready to go.
The 4730 can also run off of many different operating systems, including IBM OS/2, Mac, Linux, UNIX and many different Windows-based platforms (including Windows Vista). It’s offered with a one-year, on-site warranty and it can hold a standard 1600 sheets of paper within all of its many trays. Indeed, the variety of media materials it can print off of is also truly impressive.
As far as what one might pay for the HP Color LaserJet CM4730 printer, it’s for certain that this is no cheap machine. At present, it lists for between $4100 and $5000. Rebates are available from the manufacturer and the machine is so good at what it does that most businesses looking for the ultimate in multifunction capabilities with such a high durability factor will find much to like about it. HP toner cartridges will need to be bought on occasion. The bulk toner is found cheapest online. Just search for HP Color LaserJet CM4730 printer toner so that you make sure to get the correct kind.
