Do you remember the days when color laser printers would cost thousands of dollars? Well, those days are now history. Say hello to the HP Color LaserJet 3600n printer using black Q6471a toner. It is sub $1,000 color laser printer, which boasts blazing printing speed at a great price. Let’s take a closer look at this nifty device.
With a footprint of 15.7 x 17.7 inches, this HP Color LaserJet is quite compact, especially for a color laser printer. However, do not let its size fool you. It weighs a hefty 59.7 lbs, which makes it one of the heaviest laser printers in its group. There are only a few compact color laser printers out in the market and the LaserJet 3600n is definitely one of the most compact.
The LaserJet 3600n has an Ethernet port, which makes it a perfect solution in a small office or home. Once connected using a Cat 5 or Ethernet wire, it will automatically detect the configuration of your network. Connecting it to the network is very straightforward and everything is illustrated on the manual. Just plug it in the router and wait a few seconds and you will be good to go.
The LaserJet 3600n does have 360 MHz and 64 MB memory. Unfortunately, there is no way to upgrade the memory since there is only slot. Even though the memory is just 64 MB, it can handle anything thrown at it. However, it may stop once in a while, but it is quite rare.
Similar to other workgroup laser printers, printing speed is a very essential factor to consider. A good printer can handle up 17 pages in a minute. The same is speed can be achieved for color prints. Getting 17 pages per minute for monochrome is not that fast, but it is slightly faster than most. What really caught our attention is the similar speed with both color and monochrome prints. The color prints were clear, with barely noticeable discoloration. As for monochrome, it is nothing short of excellent.
The HP Color LaserJet package includes toner. There is a 6,000-page yield for black and three 4,000-page yield ones for color (magenta, yellow, and cyan). The bundled toner cartridges is a big plus, since most of its competition only provide 3,000-page yield toner cartridges just to save a few bucks. The average cost per page for black is 2.4 cents, which is quite reasonable for printer in its class. However, a high capacity 12,000-page yield toner cartridge can lower printing cost down to 2.2 cents. For the color printing, the average cost is at 3.6 cents. In fact, HP has one the cheapest color printing costs.
With electricity prices going up, it is important to get a device that is very power efficient. The LaserJet 3600n only uses 48 Watts when it is in sleep mode and 355 Watts when it is in use. These figures make the HP LaserJet very power efficient. One can leave it on without worrying about the electric bill.
Overall, this HP printer is a great device that offers good performance and quality in the prints from the HP Q6470a Toner Cartridge. The 3600n deserves two thumbs up for its value and performance, as does the HP 3600n cartridges. A great printer and remanufactured toner produce the superior prints you need for any situation.
