Installing Zygor Guides.

This is such an easy process, if you can open a folder, cut and paste then that’s all there is to it. If you have installed addons before then even better. It should take you around 5 mins to complete the installation of the guide. In essence your not really installing anything, you are simply copying and pasting some files into your World of warcraft directory.

Right so you have access to the members area of Zygor Guides. Now download it to a memorable place, somewhere like the desktop is an easy option. You can always move it later to your documents folder or similar. I chose the desktop because you’d be surprised at how many people down load files from the net and forget which folder they are saving to. Many people download files to they’re computer and once it finishes can’t find them. The desktop is an easy option, so download to there.

So you have the guide now saved to your desktop. Now you want to locate the folder that you are going to install Zygor Guides into. This folder is called “Addons” and can be found in your World of Warcraft Files. To locate it, click start, then click on the C drive icon in the opened folder. Now go to program files and within this folder scroll down until you come to your World of Warcraft Folder. Click this folder and within you will see a folder named interface. Open up the interface folder by clicking on it and there you will find the Addons folder, where we will be placing Zygor Guides. Make the addons folder ready for the files by simply opening it up.

So now with the addons folder open we want to return to the zipped file which contains Zygor Guides. Click on this and open it up. Now you want to left click and drag around the files within, so as they become highlighted. Then left click on the highlighted files and whilst holding the left mouse button down drag and drop them into the addons folder. There is another way to do this and that is to, open the zip file, highlight all the files contained. If you then look you will see a tab above the files called “Extract to”. Click this and it will bring up a small window, all you have to do is navigate through to the addons folder and then click ok. This will also place the files there.

Ok now you can shut all the open folders down. The guide has been installed, that’s all there is to it. Very simple and quick to boot. If you now go ahead and fire up Wow you will see the Guide on your game screen ready for use. You can also customize it from within the game, which is simple. But that’s another article for me to write. You will love the guide, it’s going to change your experience of Wow for the better.
